Finally, there are better ways to manage CWD than blanket killing wild deer populations and hoping for the best. There are deer that are resistant to CWD, and by depopulating areas, they are also eliminating resistant deer from the gene pool.

The USDA Farm Service Agency's Conservation Reserve Program protects over 20 million acres of environmentally sensitive land.
